Barbara’s career spans social service, education and the private sector. She has developed and managed social service programs, has taught at all levels in the education system, from preschool through graduate university studies. She has designed, developed and managed numerous programs within the public sector and spent 10 years in corporate training and organization development at Intel Corporation.
She is currently the Director of the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. Through that program she helps numerous entrepreneurs throughout the mid-valley as they meet the challenges of starting, stabilizing and growing their businesses.
Through grants from the Governor’s Strategic Investment Fund she founded the Willamette Valley Bioscience Consortium in 2008 and continues to act as a “hub” as local WVBC members move toward collaborative research, development and delivery projects to sell into the global healthcare market.
