Scott has a wide range of first-hand entrepreneurial and R&D experience that is relevant to many situations requiring innovation. His start-up company experience includes being the founding CEO of a university spin-out nanotech company, for which he worked to commercialize a professor’s idea, as well as writing and serving as principle investigator for a NSF STTR Phase 1 grant, among other government grant-funded projects. Scott has a strong interest in innovation and the entrepreneurial aspects of economic development and is on the Technical Advisory Group for Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. He currently has his own business and technology innovation consulting company, Arise2.
Prior to CSD Nano, Scott spent 17 years in the semiconductor industry, mostly in R&D and high-volume consumer electronic product development at a variety of companies including Agilent Technologies, Cypress Semiconductor, and Micron Technology. Scott has led and participated on multinational teams in the US, Malaysia, India and Japan. He holds one U.S. patent.
Scott’s educational background includes an MBA with honors in management from Willamette University, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Japanese Studies from Oregon State University. In his free time, Scott relaxes with gardening, reading, and exercising.
