John Sechrest

Economic Development Traded Sector specialist

After graduating from the University of Illinois, John was hired by Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis Oregon.

He has worked as a software developer, a unix system administrator, a university instructor before starting a local Internet Service Provider, PEAK Internet Services. After 6 years of successful management, PEAK Internet merged with Casco Communications, with all the investors making a profit on their investment. After providing transition support for the merger, John worked at Alpha Omega Computer systems, providing R+D management and developing SBIR grants. He currently works at the Corvallis Benton Chamber Coalition as an Economic Development Traded Sector Specialist, supporting business facilitation, business startup conversations, high tech commercialization, and the local angel investors’ network.
